I noticed that even though I am not hungry I still eat. Then I started to ask myself, why am I eating? This is an important question to ask myself since it helped clue me in what triggers my emotional eating episodes. Then I kept a journal so that I can write down what I am feeling instead of eating. My journal is a great tool for identifying patterns and behaviors that I may not even be aware of – and course I need to know what they are before I can change them.
