Filipinos Favorite Snack Fare

Even when I was small child, banana Q was already my favorite snack food and in fact it still is until now. Banana Q is the Filipinos favorite snack young and old, and rich and poor alike. It a kind of banana but not a fruit--cooked with brown sugar thus tastes sweet and put in a barbecue stick, and goes well with your favorite drink. Nowadays, banana Q may cost one peso and fifty cents to two pesos per stick. Well that’s only my rough estimate.

Blood Clots May Heal or Kill

Blood clot is helpful when we have injuries. Blood cells and fibrin strands form a plug to stop the bleeding. Soon the clot will form a scab, allowing it to heal. If one¢s body has no ability to clot, we will bleed to death. However, blood clot is also formed without injury. Those who have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and high cholesterol tend to form blood clots. They may block the flow of blood and may have a stroke or heart attack. We should see to it that these diseases are cured as soon as possible or we avoid foods that may lead to these diseases. Please take care.

Love Is A Commitment

Love to most people is a deep and intense emotion that one feels for another. This is indeed a misconception. Love in the real sense is not all about emotions. It requires commitment to respect a person and stick by his/her side. With this commitment goes along the feeling of warmth and belongingness, which most people think as the only component of real love. Just come to think about this: If love relies on feelings alone, which tends to be unstable, do you think there would be a relationship that would last long or a lifetime?

Each group prepared recipes and we learned cooking different kinds of foods from meat to soup and salads. But the most enjoyable part was when we had the chance to eat the foods prepared by each group.

Our former neighbors were a big clan who lived in one compound. Everytime they hold birthday parties for their kids their favorite guests were me and my sister. My grandma would prepare coloring books as gifts for us to bring to the party. Our neighbor's child asked us one time why everytime they have birthday parties our favorite gifts we bring are coloring books.

Play House

When we were small kids my brother, sister and me used to play" playhouse." We took turns acting as mother, child and father. We had plastic dinner set toys where we put leaves, flowers and stalks as our "foods." There was also our playhouse that my grandfather built for us that stood in our garden. There, we would "eat, sleep, and live" like it’s a real house-home life.
